Story based examination
The farmer wants effective irrigation and called his son to help him in his work.
The small well in the corner of field is containing water with a depth of 30 meters (1) with mud and solid impurities (2) and selection of pump is necessary in this situation considering discharge of  20 lit/sec. The pressure of water (3) is to be measured at inlet and outlet of the pump (4) with suitable measuring instruments. 
One of his friends told him to measure flow of water at outlet (5) and control flow instead of full flow of water with suitable valve(6). There is a piping layout in which outlet pipe of pump is connected to small diameter pipe(7) and branched with Cross connection but losses(8) may occur due to connections.
The pump after installation fails to start pumping (9) after remedial action works well(10) later he decided to do bore well and searching for suitable pump for lifting water from bore well. (10)
